The Turkish consumer price inflation hit a 6 month high at 12.15% in May 2018, it has only been higher once in the last 14 years, which happened previously this year.   Consumer prices went up 1.62% for May,

Transportation show the highest increase of 20%, closely followed by furnishings (16%), restaurants and housing (12.51%) and 11.2% for housing costs.

Vigourous economic growth and expansion, coupled with high inflation with give the Turkish central bank little room to avoid a rise in rates later this week and there are fears that recent Lira weakness could cause further inflation.
